Looking at W28 images...no obvious/bright/near neighbors.  Brightest 
thing I see is about mag 17, 14 arcsec WNW from target (PA 290).  There 
is something even fainter that's slightly closer, but it's 11arcsec away...

I also sat on this star for two hours with a C14/V filter.  Object 
increased in brightness about 0.07 mag steadily.  No other obvious 
modulations in the light curve...based on casual visual inspection.
