Recent observations on T Pyx. Leading up to the outburst T Pyx did
noticeably get brighter than it's normal state.

Subject: [vsnet-alert 13154] Outburst of the recurrent nova T Pyx !

Hello

The recurrent nova T Pyx is obviously going into outburst.

The last observed outburst started with a steep rise to mag 8 on ~ 7th Dec
1966,
reached 7 mag vis after an other month, and lasted ~ 280 d before it was
back to
quiescence again.
http://www.aavso.org/lcg/plot?auid=T%20Pyx&lastdays=400&start=&stop=2439800&obscode=&obscode_symbol=2&obstotals=yes&grid=on&visual=on&r=on&unknown=on&uband=on&iband=on&fainterthan=on&bband=on&j=on&v=on&h=on&unvalidated=on&differential=on&pointsize=1&width=800&height=600&mag1=&mag2=&mean=5&vmean=5
The GCVS says that previous outbursts were observed in 1890, 1902, 1920,
1944.

Congrats to Michael Linnolt to spot and announce this rare outburst (AFAIK)
first.

Clear skies
 Wolfgang
