[vsnet-alert 13874] Outburst of DDE 19 in Cepheus

The poorly studied cataclysmic variable DDE 19 in Cepheus (see
http://hea.iki.rssi.ru/~denis/VarDDE.html for more info) is in bright
outburst, as shown by TAU/Ka-Dar observations with the 40-cm Djigit
telescope and STL-11000M CCD remotely by V. Gerke.

This is close to the historical maximum brightness of the variable
recorded in USNO-B1.0 catalog from POSS-I images:

USNO-B1.0 1693-0003289 00 38 37.47 +79 21 37.4 B1=15.41 R1=14.89
B2=19.20 R2=18.70 I=18.21

I was using USNO-A2.0 1650-00140510 about 1.6' W of the variable (00
38 03.66 +79 22 07.7) with R=14.6 as the comparison star. The CV
itself is labeled as Cataclysmic Variable (sic!) on this finder chart:

no descent chart for this interesting variable!

Most likely this star is a UGZ-subtype (i.e. Z Cam) variable, but the
orbital period is still unknown. Photometric time series are
encouraged!
