There is a blue magnitude 17 star about 0.3"
from the position of the possible nova:
R.A. 20h23m30.714s, Decl. +20o46'04.22" (J2000.0)
V=16.86 (data from The Guide Star Catalog, Version 2.3.2)
Other catalogues give B magnitudes of 17.0-17.5
