[vsnet-alert 21056] SDSS J152857.86+034911.7: new SU UMa type dwarf nova

Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2017, May 21/22 unfiltered CCD photometry session of SDSS J152857.86+034911.7. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory,  using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera, under a sky with broken clouds. The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.25 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined preliminary superhump period of 0.0630 +/- 0.0002d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa type dwarf nova. The object was at mag 16.8 (unfiltered) on May 20th.

Observations will be sent to CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
