Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2018, Jun 09/10 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-18lp. Observations were made at CBA Extremadura Observatory in Spain, using a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and Trius SX-46 CCD camera, under an initially very clear sky, followed by clouds afterwards. The resulting light curve covers a small time span, yet it shows the presence of clear superhumps with an amplitude of 0.38 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a very preliminary combined superhump period of 0.092 +/- 0.005d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa type dwarf nova. The object was at mag 17.2 (CV) on Jun 10th.

Follow-up observations are strongly recommended to more accurately establish the superhump period.

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Best regards
Tonny
