[vsnet-campaign-dn 5084] V1006 Cyg outburst up to now: unusual outburst with humps?

Dear all,

Maehara-san, Nakajima-san and Gianluca Masi have reported further
high-quality time-series photometry. All observers recorded
regular waves with small (about 0.05 mag). The observations have
been relatively well expressed by the orbital period, but there
may be additional emerging signal which may reflect superhumps
(esp. in later runs). The object is fading at a rate of 0.2 mag/d
(and may be accelerating), which is again slightly too large for
a superoutburst. Up to now, the object may be experiencing
a "relatively long" (quasi?)normal outburst with humps at Porb
(reflection effect? or more disk-originated?).
The duration and the course of the outburst, presence of hump
features (and possible different periodicity?) look rather unusual.
Long-period SU UMa-type dwarf novae, such as TU Men, are known to
show "intermediate" superoutbursts. The present outburst of
V1006 Cyg may be of such a kind. Further continuous observations
are still strongly urged.
