[vsnet-campaign-dn 12860] ASASSN-17fi: new SU UMa type dwarf nova

Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2017, Apr 23/24 unfiltered CCD photometry session of ASASSN-17fi. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory,  using a 0.40-m /f10.0 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera, under clear skies. The resulting light curve clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.12 mag. A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined preliminary superhump period of 0.0589 +/- 0.0006d, hence establishing this object as a new SU UMa-type dwarf nova. The object was at mag 15.1 (unfiltered) on Apr 23rd.

Observations will be sent to CBA and VSNET for further analysis.
