Stop UnwantedAutomatic Subscriptions

Hi to all 'forced' subscribers,
Although they have claimed server problems at the time, I sincerely believe that the extended closure of VSNET was triggered by the outrage of automatic subscriptions at the time.
I am sure that the VSNET stakeholders have seriously looked into all this. It would therefore be of a great surprise if VSNET would resume all those unwanted activities.
Are the present auto subscriptions actually intended as such or possibly mistaken actions?
Perhaps we ought to await developments in the next week before taking any actions from our sides. It would be a shame if a list like vsnet-alert were to be terminated or the database of reported observations in vsnet-obs.
I have great respect for Eastern philosophy and cannot believe that the VSNET administrators will make the mistake all over.

Yes...this is really getting to be a shame. We need a network like Vsnet, but this is
virtually out of control. Just today I found out that I had been "automatically
subscribed" to yet two more links via Vsnet.
I do not know who is in charge of this anymore. My attempts in the past to send
LEGITIMATE mail and observations of interest always bounced and my concerns about these
automated subscribing has gone unnoticed...something really needs to be done. I think we
are dealing with a totally automated system except for a very few users who are able to
post what they desire on it.
