A few comments on the new CV J1808+1010 = 1RXS J180834.7+101041 =
USNO-A2.0 0975-10560872 = 2MASS 18083580+1010298.
1) The star USNO-A2.0 0975-10569358 (18 08 45.60 +10 08 45.3) about 3'
South-East of CV marked on my finder chart
<http://hea.iki.rssi.ru/~denis/J1808+1010-comps.gif> as R=13.8, B=14.4
is *variable* itself! Andrey Samokhvalov has measured the range
R=13.11-13.66 and a period of 0.26384d. I have also found this star in
NSVS database a few days ago, but now the server is not working
properly. (Anybody knows what happened to it?)
Anyways, please avoid to use it as a comparison star! (Note: this star
is different from two other RRAB stars in the field of J1808+1010 which
I have mentioned before! There are already 11 new variables in the
field identified by now.)
2) Ilfan Bikmaev of Kazan University has calibrated a few stars in the
vicinity of J1808+1010 using 1.5-m RTT150 telescope and SDSS r' filter.
The star USNO-A2.0 0975-10560020 (R=15.8 according to USNO-A2.0,
R1=15.10, R2=15.67 in USNO-B1.0) has r'=16.22, and USNO-A2.0
0975-10561808 (R=16.1, B=17.3 on my finder chart) has r'=16.3. Another
comp star (R=14.4 B=15.5) has r'=14.18. As I wrote in ATel 1640, I was
using R=15.8 for Astrotel observations from May to July. The light
curve from ATel 1648
<http://hea.iki.rssi.ru/~denis/J1808+1010-LC-Aug01.jpg> was plotted
using r'=16.22 value instead.
3) Regarding the addition of this variable to VSX:

I have checked VSX Position Search a few minutes ago, and the only star
within 30' of 18 08 35.8 +10 10 30 is ASAS 181006+1017.2 (definitely a
different object). How long does it usually take for the star to appear
in VSX after the initial submission by the discoverer? Are the VSX
administrators / moderators on holiday?
4) The star has not appeared in Simbad yet, too. Query for 1RXS
J180834.7+101041 doesn't produce any references. ATel #1640 and 1648
have not yet been indexed by ADS abstract service.
