Subject: possible new cataclysmic variable in Aqr

  I have sent a discovery report to the CBAT. It can be a new
cataclysmic variable with a long cycle. Please confirm it, and a
time-resolved photometry is strongly encouraged. The confirming
observation should also be sent to the CBAT directly.

    "K. Itagaki, Yamagata, Japan, reports his discovery of a new
variable star on a wide-field survey CCD image taken with a 0.21-m f/3
reflector. Confirming CCD images taken on Dec. 16.424 UT with a
0.60-m f/5.7 reflector show the variable's magnitude to be about 15.4
and its position to be R.A. = 21h31m22.41s, Decl. = -0d39'36".8
(equinox 2000.0).

     SDSS J213122.40-003937.0, a faint blue star (umag=21.615,
gmag=21.373, rmag=21.436, imag=21.657, zmag=21.238), has identical
position with the reported object. Outburst amplitude and a color at
its quiesient phase suggest that it is possibly a dwarf nova caught in
outburst. "
