Following the report by Seiichi Yoshida [vsnet-alert 12580] of the
possible
new object in Gemini detected by Youichirou Nakashima, we have re-examined
our images of this region obtained on 2010 December 06-09 and 2011 January
01, 03.
The images were obtained with an unfiltered ST-2000 CCD camera attached to
an F=135mm (f/2) telephoto lens.
The object is clearly visible on two images from January 01 at
position 06:20:00.02 +19:26:59.5 (+/-5", J2000). The images from January
03
are affected by fog which significantly degraded the detection limit.
The results of our observations are summarized below:
JD(UT) mag.
2455537.49466 >14
2455537.49535 >14
2455538.53050 >14
2455539.56773 >14
2455540.56512 >14
2455563.51876 12.76 +/-0.04
2455563.51942 12.87 +/-0.05
2455565.48142 >13
2455565.48212 >13
We have used V magnitudes of Tycho-2 stars within the field of view to
calibrate zero-point of the unfiltered magnitude scale. Estimated errors
are statistical only. The images may be found at
