HT Cas: detection of stage A superhumps
Enrique de Miguel, Colin Littlefield, Kiyota-san,
Itoh-san, Tamas Tordai, Lew Cook, Pavol Dubovsky and
Michael Richmond have reported observations.
The object is now in stage B with strong beat
phenomenon.
We have succeeded in detecting stage A superhumps,
which lasted up to Jan. 12.8 UT. The period was
0.07798(6) d (may be subject to a small correction
before the final result). The fractional superhump
excess corresponds to q=0.167(4). This has greatly
improved our result in 2010 (the detection was
hampered by overlapping eclipses).
Now our calibration of the stage A superhump method
versus eclipse analysis appears to be perfect.
