I also observed the transient. However in BVI filtered images the brightness
is very similar (all about mag 11.5), hence the chance is high it is a CV
instead of a nova, correct?
Data are submitted to the AAVSO database.

Observations at CBA Kleinkaroo confirm this transient at magnitude 11.4V on
UT Nov 27.77. 

Astrometric reductions to be done still.
