Dear colleagues,

I have just concluded the analysis of my 2018, Aug 21/22 and Aug 22/23 unfiltered CCD photometry sessions of ASASSN-18sx. Observations were made at CBA Belgium Observatory, using a 0.40-m f/10.0 telescope and STT-3200ME CCD camera, under clear skies.

The resulting light curve of Aug 21/22 reveals early superhumps with an amplitude of 0.16 mag, while the light curve of Aug 22/23 clearly shows the presence of superhumps with an amplitude of 0.31 mag. A preliminary period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso), yields a combined superhump period of 0.0692 +/- 0.0007d for Aug 22/23. The object was at mag 15.9 (CV) on Aug 23rd. I will publish both lightcurves on the “Cataclysmic Variables” Facebook page.

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are highly recommended to further refine the superhump period.

Best regards
Tonny
