Dear colleagues,

I just finished analysing my unfiltered CCD observations of V528 Cam,
obtained last night (2020, Feb 09/10) at CBA Extremadura Observatory, using
a 0.40-m f/5.1 telescope and SX-46 CCD camera. Sky conditions were not
optimal (strong moonlight, bit hazy).

The resulting lightcurve clearly shows the presence of superhumps, with an
amplitude of 0.23 mag, hence establishing V528 Cam as a new SU UMa-type
dwarf nova. Looking at the structure of the superhump signal, there's still
a chance that this object is a WZ Sge-type dwarf nova - future observations
will need to provide clarity.

A period analysis using the ANOVA, Lomb-Scargle and PDM methods (Peranso),
yields a combined superhump period of 0.0595 +/- 0.0027d. The object was at
mag 15.6 (CV) on Feb 10th.

Observations will be sent to AAVSO, CBA and VSNET for further analysis.

Follow-up observations are highly recommended to refine the superhump
period and to study its further evolution.

Best regards
Tonny
