Other outbursts:
1999 July 8-18, max 14.3, slowly fading (Stubbings)
2000 Dec 1-3, max 14.6 (Stubbings)
The supposed identification in the literature is from
PASP 70, 495 (1958), a hand-plotted chart
(I remember that this was one of Centaurus dwarf novae discovered
by Huruhata, am I right?)
Time-resolved photometry is also encouraged. The apparent lack
of a quiescent counterpart on DSS may suggest an outburst amplitude
larger than 6 mag.

This is only the third recorded outburst of V591 Cen, the last outburst was
in December 2000. The Downes catalogue says that no emission line
star has been found in the vicinity. Brian Warner has observed this field
and observations did not find any flickering object. CCD observations are
required to secure the correct position
