This seems to correspond rather closely to a blue mag ~21 star
recorded in GSC-2.3 and in the SuperCOSMOS database:

GSC2.3 S55U020591: 11 12 17.44 -35 38 30.1
                    11 12 17.45 -35 38 29.7 (SuperCOSMOS, epoch 1978.185)

GSC-2.3 magnitude is 20.88, while SuperCOSMOS gives 20.98,
presumably from the same plate (or copy of same). It seems to be
marginally visible on the red survey plate, but is not recorded
in the digital scan catalogues.
