[vsnet-chat 7153] Getting totally fed up

Dear all,
I'm getting totally fed up with this internal fight going on at Kyoto
University between staff members. I know that every organization has its
internal fights and politics, but I have never seen this being dissiminated
through the Internet in the current way. In addition, I don't believe it's a
professional attitude, and - frankly speaking - I'm expecting better from
professional astronomers !
The email below is yet another example, showing how things should not go. If
tomorrow all professional astronomers start with their own 'private' Yahoo
group, we (amateurs and professional) astronomers are ALL lost.
I'm not interested in subscribing to yet another Yahoo group on variable
stars, and I hope many others will follow my example. The only conclusion
for me to draw from all of this is to stick to CVNET. It is decently
managed, stable and reliable. Why can't things always be like that ?
And now back to *real* astronomy. It is clear outside !
Best regards,
Tonny

Just to confirm this, I have created a private forum on yahoo.com.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/variable_star_forum/
(The group is closed to subscribers only)
I will post (for the time being) announcements of notable phenomena and
other follow-up or relayed information to this group. Posting from other
subscribers are permitted (following the yahoo rule). variable_star_forum
owned by TK and VSNET owned by DN -- just a perfect job?
# Of course, everyone is free to create his/her own forum or group like
this.
