V466 And = OT J020025.4+441019: early superhumps update

We have received further data from Pavol A. Dubovsky, Maksym Andreev
and Maria Khramtsova (B, V, R data on two nights), Michael Richmond,
Hiroshi Itoh (two nights), Okayama U. of Sci. team,
Higashi-Hiroshima Observatory, and Tim Crawford.

All the data show double-wave modulations (slightly variable between
nights) characteristic to early superhumps. The mean period up to now
is 0.05639(1) d. The full amplitude of the early superhumps was almost
constant between Sep. 1 and 4.0 UT, but has slightly decayed since then.
The object decays more rapidly (~0.3 mag/d) for the first two nights,
but the decline has become slower during the past two nights.

All the features indicate that we have fortunately observed the early
stage of a superoutburst of a WZ Sge-type dwarf nova, including the initial
rapid decline soon after the maximum. The early superhumps are expected
to decay on coming nights, but will soon be taken over by the appearance
of ordinary superhumps with larger amplitudes. Please continue observing
as intensively as possible! Such a complete coverage of a newly
discovered WZ Sge-type dwarf nova is extremely rare, even with the
recent progress of robotic telescopes and early warning systems
such as ASAS-3. Congratulations to Itagaki-san for this precious
discovery and to all who have timely observed this object and contributed
vital photometric observations!
