and
W. Boynton, C. Fellows, K. Harshman, H. Enos, R. Starr,
and A.S. Gardner on on behalf of the GRS-Odyssey GRB team,
report:
The very bright, long-duration GRB 240607A
(Fermi-GBM detection: The Fermi GBM team, GCN 36634;
Dalessi, GCN 36637; Dalessi and Meegan, GCN 36641;
BALROG localization: Preis et al., GCN 36635;
AstroSat-CZTI detection detection: Waratkar et al., GCN 36638)
was detected by Fermi (GBM trigger 739450879), AstroSat (CZTI),
Konus-Wind, INTEGRAL (SPI-ACS), Swift (BAT), and Mars-Odyssey (HEND)
at about 39674 s UT (11:01:14).
The burst was outside the coded field of view of the BAT.
We have triangulated it to a preliminary, 3 sigma error box
whose coordinates are:
---------------------------------------------
RA(2000), deg Dec(2000), deg
---------------------------------------------
Center:
17.830 (01h 11m 19s) -29.324 (-29d 19' 25")
Corners:
17.686 (01h 10m 45s) -29.329 (-29d 19' 45")
18.025 (01h 12m 06s) -29.401 (-29d 24' 04")
17.974 (01h 11m 54s) -29.317 (-29d 19' 03")
17.634 (01h 10m 32s) -29.245 (-29d 14' 41")
---------------------------------------------
The error box area is 78 sq. arcmin, and its maximum
dimension is 22 arcmin (the minimum one is 4.2 arcmin).
The Sun distance was 76 deg.
The IPN localization is consistent with, but reduces the area of,
the Fermi-GBM final and the BALROG localizations.
This localization may be improved.
A triangulation map and HEALPix FITS file are posted at
http://www.ioffe.ru/LEA/GRBs/GRB240607_T39674/IPN
The HEALPix triangulation map is the multi-order HEALPix in units of probability density.
The Konus-Wind time history and spectrum will be given
in a forthcoming GCN Circular.

FROM: Cori Fletcher at USRA <cfletcher(a)usra.edu>
C. Fletcher (USRA) reports on behalf of the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor Team:
"The Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) trigger 739632045/240609556 at 13:20:40.23 UT
on 09 June 2024, tentatively classified as a GRB, is in fact not due
to a GRB. This trigger is likely due to particles."

TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR
NUMBER: 36646
SUBJECT: Konus-Wind detection of GRB 240606B
DATE: 24/06/08 09:47:59 GMT
FROM: Anna Ridnaia at Ioffe Institute <ridnaia(a)mail.ioffe.ru>
A. Ridnaia, D. Frederiks, A. Lysenko, D. Svinkin,
A. Tsvetkova, M. Ulanov, and T. Cline,
on behalf of the Konus-Wind team, report:
The long-duration GRB 240606B
(Swift/BAT-GUANO arcminute localization: DeLaunay et al., GCN 36628;
GECAM-B detection: Wang et al., GCN 36633;
Fermi-GBM detection: Bala & Meegan, GCN 36640)
triggered Konus-Wind at T0=48787.583 s UT (13:33:07.583).
The burst light curve shows a multipeaked structure
which starts at ~T0-53.0 s and has a total duration of ~58.4 s.
The emission is seen up to ~4 MeV.
The Konus-Wind light curve of this GRB is available at
http://www.ioffe.ru/LEA/GRBs/GRB240606_T48787/
As observed by Konus-Wind, the burst
had a fluence of 5.07(-0.10,+1.54)x10^-6 erg/cm2,
and a 64-ms peak flux, measured from T0+0.318 s,
of 1.68(-0.34,+0.61)x10^-6 erg/cm2/s
(both in the 20 keV - 10 MeV energy range).
Since the bulk of the burst emission was detected before
the trigger, the spectral analysis was performed using
the KW 3-channel light curve data.
Modelling the KW 3-channel time-integrated spectrum
(measured from T0-53.014 s to T0+5.360 s)
by a power law with exponential cutoff (CPL) model,
dN/dE ~ (E^alpha)*exp(-E*(2+alpha)/Ep),
yields alpha = -0.55(-0.83,+3.21) and Ep = 116(-21,+62) keV.
A CPL fit to the spectrum near the peak count rate,
measured from T0-0.400 s to T0+0.816 s, gives
alpha -1.20(-0.14,+0.14), and Ep = 475(-128,+239) keV.
All the quoted errors are at the 68% confidence level.
All the quoted values are preliminary.
