The LIGO Scientific Collaboration, the Virgo Collaboration, and the KAGRA Collaboration report:
We identified the compact binary merger candidate S240629by during real-time processing of data from LIGO Hanford Observatory (H1), LIGO Livingston Observatory (L1), and Virgo Observatory (V1) at 2024-06-29 14:52:56.859 UTC (GPS time: 1403707994.859). The candidate was found by the GstLAL [1], MBTA [2], and PyCBC Live [3] analysis pipelines.
S240629by is an event of interest because its false alarm rate, as estimated by the online analysis, is 3.2e-10 Hz, or about one in 1e2 years. The event's properties can be found at this URL:

The classification of the GW signal, in order of descending probability, is BBH (91%), NSBH (8%), Terrestrial (<1%), or BNS (<1%).
Assuming the candidate is astrophysical in origin, the probability that the lighter compact object is consistent with a neutron star mass (HasNS) is <1%. [4] Using the masses and spins inferred from the signal, the probability of matter outside the final compact object (HasRemnant) is <1%. [4] Both HasNS and HasRemnant consider the support of several neutron star equations of state. The probability that either of the binary components lies between 3 and 5 solar masses (HasMassGap) is 13%.
Two sky maps are available at this time and can be retrieved from the GraceDB event page:
* bayestar.multiorder.fits,0, an initial localization generated by BAYESTAR [5], distributed via GCN notice about 28 seconds after the candidate event time.
* bayestar.multiorder.fits,1, an initial localization generated by BAYESTAR [5], distributed via GCN notice about 5 minutes after the candidate event time.
The preferred sky map at this time is bayestar.multiorder.fits,1. For the bayestar.multiorder.fits,1 sky map, the 90% credible region is 221 deg2. Marginalized over the whole sky, the a posteriori luminosity distance estimate is 1205 +/- 287 Mpc (a posteriori mean +/- standard deviation).

The observations began at zenith distance = 20 deg. The sun altitude is -49.7 deg.
The galactic latitude b = 32 deg., longitude l = 310 deg.

was detected by AstroSat (CZTI), Konus-Wind,
Fermi (during GBM trigger 740533060 record), Swift (BAT),
INTEGRAL (SPI-ACS), NuSTAR (ACS), and Mars-Odyssey (HEND)
at about 85480 s UT (23:44:40).
The burst was outside the coded field of view of the BAT.
We have triangulated it to a preliminary, 3 sigma error box
whose coordinates are:

SUBJECT: IceCube-Cascade 240626A: Upper limits from a search for additional neutrino events in IceCube

The IceCube Collaboration (http://icecube.wisc.edu/) reports:
IceCube has performed a search [1] for additional track-like muon neutrino events arriving from the direction of IceCube-Cascade 240626A (https://gcn.gsfc.nasa.gov/notices_amon_icecube_cascade/139582_13078951.amon) in a time range of 1000 seconds centered on the alert event time (2024-06-26 04:28:15.63 UTC to 2024-06-26 04:44:55.63 UTC) during which IceCube was collecting good quality data. Excluding the event that prompted the alert, zero track-like events are found within the 90% containment region of IceCube-Cascade 240626A. The IceCube sensitivity to neutrino point sources with an E^-2.5 spectrum (E^2 dN/dE at 1 TeV) within the locations spanned by the 90% spatial containment region of IceCube-Cascade 240626A ranges from 1.4e-01 to 9.3e+00 GeV cm^-2 in a 1000 second time window. 90% of events IceCube would detect from a source at this declination with an E^-2.5 spectrum have energies in the approximate energy range between 3e+02 GeV and 3e+06 GeV.
A subsequent search was performed including 2 days of data centered on the alert event time (2024-06-25 04:36:35.63 UTC to 2024-06-27 04:36:35.63 UTC). In this case, we report a p-value of 0.21, consistent with no significant excess of track events. The IceCube sensitivity to neutrino point sources with an E^-2.5 spectrum (E^2 dN/dE at 1 TeV) within the locations spanned by the 90% spatial containment region of IceCube-Cascade 240626A ranges from 1.6e-01 to 9.3e+00 GeV cm^-2 in a 2 day time window.
The IceCube Neutrino Observatory is a cubic-kilometer neutrino detector operating at the geographic South Pole, Antarctica. The IceCube realtime alert point of contact can be reached at roc(a)icecube.wisc.edu.

The public trigdat data of the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) trigger
741288821 at 17:33:36 on 28 June 2024 were automatically fitted for spectrum
and sky location with BALROG (Burgess et al. 2018, MNRAS 476, 1427;
Berlato et al. 2019, ApJ 873, 60).
The best-fit position is:
RA(2000.0) = 331.0 deg
Decl.(2000.0) = -38.0 deg
The 1 sigma statistical error radius is 4.0 deg.
We estimate an additional systematic error of 1 deg.

SUBJECT: GRB 240627A: NuSTAR Detection of the long GRB

B. Grefenstette (Caltech) reports on behalf of the NuSTAR Search for INteresting Gamma-ray Signals (SINGS) working group:
The NuSTAR SINGS working group reports the detection of prompt emission from the Long GRB 240627A in both the NuSTAR CsI anti-coincidence shields. The NuSTAR CsI shield data are recorded at 1 Hz. This GRB was identified through a blind search using the CsI shield rates. Details of the search algorithm will be described in a future paper.
The NuSTAR SINGS algorithm triggered at 2024-06-27 23:58:55 (with a resolution ~5-seconds). This is consistent with the Astrosat CTZI detection (Waratkar et al, GCN circ. 36776). The GRB appears to be composed of main peak (at 2024-06-27 23:58:59) along with several additional (potentially unresolved) peaks. The duration of the event is roughly 15-s, which is consistent with the T90 from Astrosat. Peak rates are around 3,500 cps (typical background rates are 1,000 cps).
There is a simultaneous marginal detection in the CdZnTe detectors, resulting in a net of a <20 excess counts.
