...probably the Schmidt plate-scans are a bit soft at this faint
level, but accepted at face value they imply a proper motion of
about 40 mas/year, which is not so unusual, I think.  I suppose
with a decent distance-estimate one could work out whether the
implied space-motion was reasonable.

     One disappointment about the various plate-scanning projects
was that no one ever scanned the early ESO "Quick Blue" survey plates.
They probably record this star (marginally) and thus would provide
another position/magnitude measurement circa 1975.
