VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary

*** Headlines ***

A rare outburst of an intermediate polar! ----- EX Hya
New SU UMa star? ----- DO Vul

*** Last week news ***

(new targets)
  EX Hya (RA = 12h52m24s.22, Dec = -29d14'56".0)

    R. Stubbings discovered a rare outburst of a intermediate polar,
EX Hya at 9.8mag on Nov 4. The last outburst was recorded in 1998.
Since the object is an eclipsing system, time-series observations
are strongly encouraged to reveal the disk structure during the
outburst of intermediate polars (vsnet-alert 8741).

  DO Vul (RA = 19h52m10s.71, Dec = +19d34'42".5)

    P. Schmeer reported that a poorly studied dwarf nova, DO Vul is
now in a long outburst, which is probably a superoutburst.
According to his report, the object has been bright (15.3CR mag)
since Nov 2. The quiescent magnitude of the object is V=20.73.
Its large outburst amplitude also indicates a superoutburst
  (vsnet-campaign 1628).

  VV Pup (RA = 08h15m06s.73, Dec = -19d03'16".8)

    R. Stubbings reported that a polar, VV Pup became active and
entered in a high state (vsnet-campaign-polar 47). The high state
  still continues (vsnet-campaign-polar 48).

  HS 0455+8315 (RA = 05h06m48s.47, Dec = +83d19'23".4)

    S. Shugarov reported a novalike variable, HS 0455+8315 entered
in a low state. It was V=17.2 on Sep 14, then faded to V=21.4 on
  Nov 2 (vsnet-campaign-nl 177).

(old targets)
  T Leo (RA = 11h38m26s.96, Dec = +03d22'08".1)

The superoutburst is now ongoing (vsnet-outburst 6774).

  V477 Sct (RA = 18h38m43s, Dec = -12d16'.3)

    K. Nakajima reported V=14.29 on Nov 4 (vsnet-campaign-nova 1775).

  V476 Sct (RA = 18h32m04s.75, Dec = -06d43'34".3)

    K. Nakajima reported V=14.71 on Nov 4 (vsnet-campaign-nova 1775).
