VSNET Weekly Campaign Summary
*** Headlines ***
The first outburst since 1984!!! ----- DV Dra
*** Last week news ***
(new targets)
TSS J022216.4+412260 (RA = 02h22m16s.4, Dec = +41d22'59".9)
According to Atel #658, R. Quimby et al. reported a discovery
of a new dwarf nova, TSS J022216.4+412260 on Nov. 16 and 17 (about
15.5 mag) using the 0.45m ROTSE-IIIb telescope. Its spectra show a
blue continuum with prominent H-alpha and HeII 4686 emission lines,
which is rather unusual for a dwarf nova. Strong He II emission
lines are seen in rare classes of objects including high-inclination
(eclipsing) systems or WZ Sge-type dwarf novae
(vsnet-campaign-dn 4572).
DV Dra (RA = 18h17m23s.10, Dec = +50d48'18".1)
P. Schmeer discovered an extremely rare outburst of DV Dra at
15.1CR on Nov. 22. The object was faint on Nov. 19 (<18.0CR).
DV Dra is a candidate of WZ Sge-type dwarf novae. The only
previously recorded outburst (a supermaximum) of this UGWZ
candidate was observed on 1984 June 1.9 UT at mpg= 15.0
(IBVS 3626).
Time-resolved photometry is very urgently required
(vsnet-campaign 1632, vsnet-campaign-dn 4573).
