[vsnet-alert 27986] TCP J07593036+0459025: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova
by Taichi Kato 31 Jan '24

31 Jan '24
TCP J07593036+0459025: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova According to the observations by Itoh-san, this object showed clear superhumps on Jan. 28 (not very apparent on preceding nights). The period is about 0.06 d. Josch Hambsch also detected superhumps on Jan. 29.

[vsnet-alert 27984] TCP J12584767-0849071 = ASASSN-24ao: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova
by Taichi Kato 29 Jan '24

TCP J12584767-0849071 = ASASSN-24ao: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova According to the observations by Itoh-san, this object showed clear superhumps on Jan. 26 (not very apparent on Jen. 24 but may have started appearing). The period is about 0.063 d. Although Josch Hambsch reported observations, the data showed unrealistic large-amplitude variations (probably due to some systematic cause) and were not used in this analysis.

[vsnet-alert 27983] ASASSN-24ah: new SU UMa (or WZ Sge) star, rebrightening and superhumps

ASASSN-24ah: new SU UMa (or WZ Sge) star, rebrightening and superhumps This object showed a dip and rebrightening. YYYYMMDD(UT) mag observer 20240115.6584 14.67C (Masayuki Moriyama) 20240119.5520 14.97C (Masayuki Moriyama) 20240121.7547 <151C (Masayuki Moriyama) 20240121.8954 <173C (Masao Funada) 20240122.8613 <174C (Masao Funada) 20240124.5826 14.95C (Masayuki Moriyama) 20240125.5979 14.85C (Masayuki Moriyama) Observations by Tamas Tordai on Jan. 25-26 showed superhumps with a period of 0.0602(4) d and an amplitude of 0.11 mag. The object was rising on Jan. 24 in Tordai's observations. Superhumps were not apparent in observations by Itoh-san before this dip. The plateau-like phase before the dip was long enough, likely excluding a short precursor in an ordinary SU UMa star. This object may be a WZ Sge star in which early superhumps were below the detection limit during the initial outburst. The superhump period suggests a system with multiple rebrightenings if this interpretation is correct.

Re: Wils_SDSSJ091741.29+073647.4 = TCPJ09174122+0736487: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova > Itoh-san reported observations on four nights and detected > developing superhumps since Jan. 13. The superhump period is > 0.06462(8) d (stage A or A+B combined). The current amplitude > is 0.2 mag. Josch Hambsch also reported the same object (=ASASSN-24af). The combined data (mean epoch of the data slightly earlier) yielded a longer period of 0.06487(5) d, probably more reflecting stage A superhumps.

Wils_SDSSJ091741.29+073647.4 = TCPJ09174122+0736487: new SU UMa-type dwarf nova Itoh-san reported observations on four nights and detected developing superhumps since Jan. 13. The superhump period is 0.06462(8) d (stage A or A+B combined). The current amplitude is 0.2 mag.

[vsnet-alert 27977] ATLAS23xus = TCPJ03433597-1153124: ordinary superhumps
by Taichi Kato 04 Jan '24

04 Jan '24
ATLAS23xus = TCPJ03433597-1153124: ordinary superhumps The most recent data (Jan. 2) by Itoh-san recorded probable ordinary superhumps (rather fragmentary data). The long waiting time and the large outburst amplitude suggest a WZ Sge star.

by FIDRICH Robert 02 Jan '24

02 Jan '24
The extragalactic slow nova AT 2023oom (Vend51) has been significantly brightening at an accelerated rate in the last few days! Tamás Tordai measured it at 18,464CV yesterday evening, recent ZTF data show it at 18.294r this morning.
