TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 38674 SUBJECT: GRB 241226A: Fermi GBM Final Real-time Localization DATE: 24/12/26 22:44:18 GMT FROM: Fermi GBM Team at MSFC/Fermi-GBM do_not_reply@GIOC.nsstc.nasa.gov
The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely LONG GRB
At 22:33:39 UT on 26 Dec 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 241226A (trigger 756945224.664144 / 241226940).
The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 79.2, Dec = 6.0 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 05h 16m, 6d 00'), with a statistical uncertainty of 6.8 degrees.
The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 73.0 degrees.
