TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 37376 SUBJECT: GRB 240831B: Fermi GBM Final Localization DATE: 24/09/02 23:00:03 GMT FROM: Lorenzo Scotton at UAH lscottongcn@outlook.com
The Fermi GBM team reports the detection of a likely SHORT GRB
"At 17:02:38.47 UT on 31 August 2024, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 240831B (trigger 746816563/240831710).
The on-ground calculated location, using the Fermi GBM trigger data, is RA = 284.49, Dec = 47.35 (J2000 degrees, equivalent to J2000 18h 58m, +47d 21'), with a statistical uncertainty of 16.75 degrees.
The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 18 degrees.
