Ling (NAO, CAS) on behalf of the Einstein Probe (EP) team: We report on the detection of an X-ray transient by the Wide-field X-ray Telescope (WXT) on board the Einstein Probe (EP) mission, designated EP260727a. The transient triggered EP-WXT (ID: 01709276927) at 2026-07-27T20:37:57 (UTC). The WXT position of the source is R.A. = 346.455 deg, DEC = 3.240 deg (J2000) with an uncertainty of 3 arcmin in radius (90% C.L. statistical and systematic). A follow-up observation with the Follow-up X-ray Telescope (FXT) was performed automatically. Within the WXT error circle, an uncatalogued X-ray source was detected by the onboard software at R.A. = 346.4623 deg, DEC = 3.1953 deg (J2000) with an uncertainty of 20 arcsec in radius (90% C.L. statistical and systematic), which is consistent with the position of NOT likely optical counterpart (GCN 45234). Further information will be updated when the telemetry data is received. Launched on January 9, 2024, EP is a space X-ray observatory to monitor the soft X-ray sky with X-ray follow-up capability (Yuan et al. 2022, Handbook of X-ray and Gamma-ray Astrophysics). Stalder (NOT) report: We observed the field of EP-WXT trigger ID 01709276927 detected by EP using the 2.56m Nordic Optical Telescope (NOT) equipped with the ALFOSC camera. Observation started at 2026-07-28T00:19:16.548 UT, i.e., 3.69 hrs post-burst, and a series of Sloan r- and z-band frames were obtained. A brightened source was detected within the EP/WXT error circle at coordinates R.A. (J2000) = 23:05:50.65 (346.46104) Dec. (J2000) = +03:11:38.65 (3.19407) with an uncertainty of ~ 0.5 arcsec. The source had r = 21.98 +/- 0.08 mag at a median time of 4.18 hrs post-trigger, calibrated with Pan-STARRS DR2 and not corrected for Galactic extinction. We note that there is a faint source at that position in the Legacy Survey DR10 images with r = 23.73 +/- 0.23 and z_phot = 1.03 +/- 0.24. No NEO was at the above position at the observational time according to MPC. We thus think the source is likely the optical counterpart. Briggs (UAH) report: The Glowbug gamma-ray telescope [1,2,3], operating on the International Space Station, reports the detection of GRB 260727A, which was also detected by SVOM (GCN 45220) and AstroSat (GCN 45225).  Using an adaptive window with a resolution of 32-ms, the burst onset is determined to be 2026-07-27 00:21:57.592 with a duration of 22.5 s and a total significance of about 24.2 sigma.  The emission seen by Glowbug corresponds to the brightest portion of the burst seen in the AstroSat light curve, and is a subset of the full emission episode observed by SVOM. The analysis results presented here are preliminary and use a response function that lacks a detailed characterization of the surrounding passive structure of the ISS. Glowbug is a NASA-funded technology demonstrator for sensitive, low-cost gamma-ray transient telescopes developed, built, and operated by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) with support from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, USRA, and NASA MSFC.  It was launched on 2023 March 15 aboard the Department of Defense Space Test Program’s STP-H9 to the ISS and operated until 2024 April when it was put in safe storage on orbit. SVOM/VT performed observations with automatic slew for GRB 260618B detected by SVOM/ECLAIRs (Liang et al., GCN 45219; Brunet et al., GCN 45229) and SVOM/GRM (Liang et al., GCN 45219). This burst was also detected by Fermi/GBM (Fermi GBM team, GCN 45218). The observation started at 2026-07-27T01:28:04 UTC, i.e., 1.72 hr post trigger in the VT_B (400-650 nm) and VT_R (650-1000 nm) channels simultaneously. An uncatalogued optical candidate was detected in VT_R within the errorbox of SVOM/MXT (Brunet et al., GCN 45229), compared with the PanSTARRS catalogue. The position is at R.A., Dec. = 356.883196, 52.870077 degrees, equivalent to: R.A. (J2000) = 23:47:31.93 Dec. (J2000) = +52:52:12.69 with an uncertainty of 0.5 arcsec. The following measurements are in the AB magnitude and are not corrected for Galactic extinction: Mid time | Band | Exposure Time | Brightness 1.95 hr VT_R 17*100 s 21.4 +/-0.2 mag The source showed a fading slope of about -0.2 in VT_R during the observations above. It was not detected in VT_B, even all the available data were stacked with the total exposure time of 85*100s. The 3 sigma upper limit was estimated to be 24.0 mag in VT_B at the mid time of 4.37 hr. Turpin (CEA), Ruizhi Li (YNAO), Ziming Wang (BNU), on behalf of the SVOM/ ECLAIRs & MXT team report: Using the full X band dataset a corrected ECLAIRs position could be derived for GRB 260726A/sb27062614 (Liang et al., GCN 45219). The improved ECLAIRs position is RA=356.770, Dec=52.851 with a 90% c.l. of 3.7 arcmin. The burst appeared very close to the Earth limb and only part of the burst signal was considered by the onboard processing, explaining the localization error. SVOM MXT observed the ECLAIRs error region starting at T0 = 2026-07-26T23:47:09 (106s after trigger time ECLAIRs T0). Using the full X band dataset, a faint fading source is recovered in the first orbit. Removing the first 150s affected by straylight, the best position is RA=356.903, Dec=52.870 corresponding to: RA (J2000) = 23h47m36.59s. Dec (J2000) = +52d52m11.7s with a statistical 90% C.L. radius of 75.4”. This detection remains tentative due to the presence of straylight possibly remaining in the MXT data. This position is 4.95 arcmin from the ECLAIRs position. This position corrects and supersedes the one reported by (Liang et al., GCN 45219). TITLE: GCN CIRCULAR NUMBER: 45228 SUBJECT: GRB 260727A / SVOM sb26072702: RAPAS optical non-detection DATE: 26/07/27 15:20:56 GMT FROM: Thierry Midavaine at SAF - RAPAS <thierrymidavaine(a)sfr.fr> Pierre-Yves Lechapelain and Thierry Midavaine report on behalf of the RAPAS network: We observed the field of GRB 260727A (SVOM/ECLAIRs trigger sb26072701; Li et al., GCN 45220) in response to the overlapping SVOM broker alert sb26072702 (RA = 331.626 deg, Dec = +74.549 deg, J2000, 2.5 arcmin error radius). Observations were obtained with the RAPAS 0.25 m f/3 robotic telescope and IMX533 sensor at Observatoire de Bretagne Sud (Y80), using RAPAS filters matched to the Gaia G, Gbp, and Grp bands. Data were reduced with the STDPipe/stdweb pipeline; photometry and astrometry are calibrated to Gaia DR3 with spatially varying zero points and color terms. Observations began at 2026-07-27 00:48 UTC (T_GRB + 26 min, with T_GRB = 2026-07-27 00:22:02 UTC from GCN 45220) and continued in a G / Gbp / Grp cycle with 30 s exposures until approximately 02:44 UTC (T_GRB + 2.4 hr). We detect no optical afterglow at the sb26072702 position. Forced aperture photometry at RA = 331.626 deg, Dec = +74.549 deg shows no significant excess on the earliest G exposure (flux S/N = 1.8) or on the deep G co-add (flux S/N = 3.6, below our 5σ detection threshold). No Gaia-uncatalogued source is found within the 2.5 arcmin SVOM error circle. A comparison to Gaia DR3 in a 12 arcmin (0.2 deg) radius around the alert on the first G frame yields five marginal transient candidates at 7–11 arcmin offset; none are confirmed in deeper co-added images. Searches over the full unvignetted RAPAS field (~0.62 deg radius) reveal no plausible afterglow at the SVOM coordinates. Guillot (IRAP) report on behalf of the SVOM team: We performed a targeted search of the X-ray transient EP260723a, detected by EP-WXT at 2026-07-23T18:56:01 UTC (T0) with a duration of about 100 s (EP team, GCN 45201), using the SVOM/ECLAIRs event-by-event data downloaded through the X-band ground station. At T0, the transient position was within the ECLAIRs field of view. No statistically significant signal was identified in the [T0 - 500 s, T0 + 3000 s] interval by the ECLAIRs image trigger performed on multiple timescales and energy bands. For the interval from T0 to T0 + 100 s, we derive a 3-sigma upper limit of 2.4e-9 erg/cm^2/s in the 4-120 keV energy band, assuming a power-law spectrum with a photon index of 1.4, as measured by EP-WXT (GCN 45201). Alternatively, assuming a “soft” spectral template (a Band function with Epeak = 25 keV, alpha = -1.5, beta = -3.0), we derive a 3-sigma upper limit of 1.5e-9 erg/cm^2/s. Observations at the ECLAIRs position began at 2026-07-27 00:27:22 UT (+5.8 minutes post trigger) and continued to 2026-07-27 01:47:11 UT (+1.4h post trigger). Images consisted of 4x90s exposures in the GOTO L-band (400-700 nm). Images were processed immediately after acquisition using the GOTO pipeline. Difference imaging was performed using deeper template observations. Any source candidates are initially filtered using a classifier (Killestein et al. 2021) and cross-matched against a variety of contextual and minor planet catalogs (Lyman et al. 2026). We found no new transients that could be credibly associated with 260727A within the localisation down to a 5-sigma depth of L<20.2 AB mag.
