Angail (IAO) report on behalf of the GIT team: We observed the field of Fermi GRB 251022A (Fermi GBM team, GCN 42380), with 0.7m GROWTH-India Telescope (GIT). We started the observation at 2025-10-23 22:25:05 UT, i.e., 23.85 hours after the Fermi trigger. Multiple exposures were obtained in the r'-band, and we clearly detect the optical counterpart in the stacked image. Our magnitude is consistent with other optical observations (O’Neill et al., GCN 42386; Becerra et al., GCN 42394; Lipunov et al., GCN 42395; Mandarakas et al., GCN 42397). The GROWTH India Telescope (GIT; Kumar et al. 2022) is a 70-cm telescope with a 0.7-degree field of view, set up by the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA) and the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB) with funding from DST-SERB and IUSSTF. It is located at the Indian Astronomical Observatory (Hanle), operated by IIA. We acknowledge funding by the IITB alumni batch of 1994, which partially supports the operations of the telescope. Kennea (PSU), Tyler Parsotan (NASA GSFC), Maia Williams (Northwestern) report: Swift/BAT did not localize GRB 251023C onboard (T0: 2025-10-23T16:24:24.92 UTC, CALET Trig 1445271383) The CALET notice, distributed in near real-time, triggered the Swift Mission Operations Center operated Gamma-ray Urgent Archiver for Novel Opportunities (GUANO; Tohuvavohu et al. 2020, ApJ, 900, 1). Upon trigger by this notice, GUANO sent a command to the Swift Burst Alert Telescope (BAT) to save 90 seconds of BAT event-mode data from [-45,+45] seconds around the time of the burst. All the requested event mode data was delivered to the ground. The BAT likelihood search, NITRATES (DeLaunay + Tohuvavohu 2022, ApJ, 941, 169), performed on the temporal window [T0-20 s, T0+20 s], detects the burst with a sqrt(TS) of 26.0 in a 8.192 s analysis time bin, starting at T0 + 2.048 s. Using the NITRATES analysis, parameter estimation was performed to obtain the localization of this burst in the form of a HEALPIX Multi-Order Coverage (MOC) skymap. This localization accounts for both statistical and systematic errors. More details in the creation and calibration of these maps will soon be published (DeLaunay et al. 2025. in prep) The 90% credible area is 1,100 deg2 and the 50% credible area is 229 deg2. The integrated probability inside the coded field of view is <1%. Meegan (UAH) report on behalf of the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor Team: "At 22:34:15.26 UT on 22 October 2025, the Fermi Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) triggered and located GRB 251022A (trigger 782865260/251022940) which was also detected by Fermi-LAT ( N. Di Lalla et al. 2025, GCN 42384), MASTER OT (V. Lipunov et al. 2025, GCN 42395), and Swift/BAT-GUANO (James DeLaunay et al. 2025, GCN 42409). The Fermi GBM on-ground location is consistent with the Fermi-LAT position. The angle from the Fermi LAT boresight is 36.5 degrees. The GBM light curve consists of multiple emission episodes with a duration (T90) of about 99.6 s (50-300 keV). The time-averaged spectrum from T0-1 to T0+107.5 s is best fit by a power law function with an exponential high-energy cutoff. The power law index is -0.88 +/- 0.04 and the cutoff energy, parameterized as Epeak, is 154 +/- 5 keV. The event fluence (10-1000 keV) in this time interval is (2.16 +/- 0.05)E-05 erg/cm^2. The 1-sec peak photon flux measured starting from T0+100 s in the 10-1000 keV band is 12.4 +/- 0.3 ph/s/cm^2. A Band function fits the spectrum equally well with Epeak= 138 +/- 7 keV, alpha = -0.8 +/- 0.05 and beta = -2.6 +/- 0.2. The main peak was outside the typical search window of [T0-20 s, T0+20 s], so we expanded it in this case. Using the NITRATES analysis, parameter estimation was performed to obtain the localization of this burst in the form of a HEALPIX Multi-Order Coverage (MOC) skymap. This localization accounts for both statistical and systematic errors. More details in the creation and calibration of these maps will soon be published (DeLaunay et al. 2025. in prep) The 90% credible area is 2,100 deg2 and the 50% credible area is 380 deg2. The integrated probability inside the coded field of view is <1%. The NITRATES skymap is consistent with the Fermi localization reported in the final position notice (GCN 42380). The combined Fermi/GBM+NITRATES 90% credible area is 111 deg2 and the 50% credible area is 29 deg2. The NITRATES and combined Fermi/GBM+NITRATES skymaps are consistent with the Fermi/LAT (GCN 42384) and optical afterglow positions (GOTO GCN 42386, DDOTI GCN 42394, MASTER GCN 42395). Using an adaptive window with a resolution of 32-ms, the burst onset is determined to be 2025-10-23 05:57:43.480 with a duration of 4.1 s and a total significance of about 9.1 sigma. The light curve comprises a single peak. Note that data from ~T0-1s to T0+1s suffered from deadtime in various detectors. The analysis results presented here are preliminary and use a response function that lacks a detailed characterization of the surrounding passive structure of the ISS. Glowbug is a NASA-funded technology demonstrator for sensitive, low-cost gamma-ray transient telescopes developed, built, and operated by the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) with support from the University of Alabama in Huntsville, USRA, and NASA MSFC. It was launched on 2023 March 15 aboard the Department of Defense Space Test Program’s STP-H9 to the ISS, and operated until 2024 April when it was put in safe storage on orbit. The analysis results presented here are preliminary and use a response function that lacks a detailed characterization of the surrounding passive structure of the ISS. Following the detection of the X-ray transient EP251023a by the Wide-field X-ray Telescope (WXT) on board the Einstein Probe (EP) mission (ID: 01709247295, Wu et al., GCN circ. 42388), we observed the field with one of the two Las Cumbres Observatory (LCO) 40-cm telescopes (Planewave Delta Rho 350 telescopes equipped with QHY600 CMOS cameras) located at the LCO node at Teide Observatory (Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain). The observation, a single exposure of 300 sec in the SDSS r filter, started on 2025-10-23 at 06:09:24 UT, about 3.64 hours after the EP-WXT trigger. The optical counterpart detected by GOTO (GOTO25ixt, Wortley et al., GCN circ. 42387) is clearly detected in our image with a magnitude of r = 18.69 +/- 0.10 (AB), calibrated against PanSTARRS-1 DR2 stars and not corrected for galactic extinction, that is consistent with other optical detections at similar epochs (Li et al., GCN circ. 42389; Liu et al., GCN circ. 42391) and brighter than the COLIBRÍ detection at a later epoch (Mandarakas et al., GCN circ. 42400). A redshift of z = 2.232 has been measured by Chornock (GCN circ. 42398) using Keck/LRIS. Based on observations made with the Las Cumbres Observatory’s education network telescopes that were upgraded through generous support from the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation (LCO program IAC2025B-010). These observations are part of a course in Astrophysical Techniques of the Master in Astrophysics of the Astrophysics Department of the University of La Laguna in collaboration with the Instituto de Astrofísica de Canarias (La Laguna, Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain). The observations began at zenith distance = 80 deg. The sun altitude is -50.5 deg. The galactic latitude b = 31 deg., longitude l = 204 deg. We observed from 2025-10-23 10:14:07 to 11:41:55 UTC (from 1.42 to 2.88 hours after the trigger) and obtained 32 minutes of simultaneous exposure in the r and z filters. The data were reduced and coadded with the COLIBRÍ pipeline and analysed with STDWeb/STDPipe (Karpov 2025). The photometry was calibrated using nearby stars from the PanSTARRS DR1 catalog, is in the AB system, and is not corrected for Galactic extinction. We detect an uncatalogued source consistent with the XRT 3.7 arcsec error circle (Evans et al., GCN Circ. 42401) at: RA(J2000) = 04:54:00.63 = 73.50263 degrees Dec(J2000) = 12:39:28.4 = 12.65789 degrees with an uncertainty of 0.5 arcsec. The preliminary magnitudes derived for that source is: r = 21.86 +/- 0.04 z = 20.45 +/- 0.04 Further observations are planned.
